"For All Your Funky Needs"

Stephen Bruton Cleansed By The Funky Grooves!!

Malford and Randy glean from the master!

A week after their incredible performance at Santa Cruz Blues Festival Randy got the best news he could have ever wanted to hear, Stephen Bruton's cancer was gone from his body. The doctors after performing tests said that could not even find traces of it.Two days before the show Stephen literally pulled the chemo tubes from his body and leaped on a plane for LA cause he didn't want to miss his first opportunity to play with his good buddy Randy and the Boneshakers which was also featuring Malford Milligan and Sweetpea Atkinson together on the same stage. It was Stephen who first introduced Randy to Malford back in 1997 and co- wrote Teach Me How To Stay. "It won't be the last time" vows Randy. This was the best time with the best band and my best friends. The only way to top this would be to have former Shaker guitarist Jamie Kime with us on the next one and trust me I'm workin on it".

"As deep as this album is cut for cut, the listener will get the impression that for Jacobs, a memorable smooth jazz collection like this is just scratching the surface of his creative capabilities"

- Smooth Jazz News

It's unanimous... We're all in agreement here at Smoothjazz.com, FROM ME TO YOU is one of the finest recordings we've ever heard from an independent artist. Randy Jacobs is an "indie," but he's a major dude for sure.

Randy's Marshall Amplifier

Amplifier: Marshall 1972

Purchased: 1991

Vendor: Makin Music (W Coast)

Nickname: The Rump

Model: Super Lead 100 Watt

Modifications: David Friedman

Backstory:

I had moved to Los Angeles only a few months before and I started storing my gear at Andy Brauers since they were handling my cartage. At that time Makin Music (West Coast) was operating out of Andy's building. Three great things happened the first day I went into that shop.

I met Oliver Leiber, then Dave Friedman and found the amp of my dreams. The minute I plugged in I knew it was for me. This amp could rock but it had soul. I've used it in all kinds on genres of music and it has never let me down. Dave Friedman (Rack Systems LTD) modified it so I can run it as an ultra clean amp too. On Bonnie Raitts "Tangled and Dark" those funky clean tones are the Marshall and the crunchin guitar track for "Cold Sweat" from the Boneshakers "Book of Spells".

A spectacular box of tubes, wires and mojo!!
