On January 7th 2010 Gregg Bissonette, Jon Gilutin, Jervonni Collier, Paul "Shilts" Weimer and of course Randy returned to Woodcliff studios to work on a video for the making of "The Return Of Randy Dynamite CD " with Gemma Corfield manning the camera . The title harking back to a time in Randy's life when his song writing was fun and free of genres." I had spoke to a friend who played with me back then as a teenager and he asked why hadn't I recorded any versions of those songs" says Jacobs. I had never looked that far back except for "Sugar Girl" from the Boneshakers Pouring Gasoline CD which came from that period. I started with five older songs which led me to write five new ones and thus an album was created. I have never been more happy with a project. Playing the music straight up with no loops and minimal overdubs makes it so much more real for me. Looking into the eyes of my band mates and making communication as opposed to adding one part at a time is much more inspiring. A new website is coming soon along with the video. BackStory:
I decided to experiment with an old Blackface Princeton Reverb combo I had owned for quite a while. It had been damaged and was inoperable for a long time so I took it to Bruce (Amp God) Eganater and asked him if he would fix it but beef the power and add a master. What I got back was a 30 watt work horse head. It has that cool tube compression and can be super clean or get a sweet crunch. Bruce has made many modified amps for me but this one is golden.
